Now book Salon-Spa appointments online

My salon plans are always last moment, often post sunset. Now there are only a handful of salons that keep open after 7 pm and given the nature of my profession and discipline, I’m more often than not somewhere far away, from my regular haunts. So I often find myself Googling numbers and timings from unreliable sources online, which is a pure waste of time. And time is of essence, when you are already behind schedule, without a plan and in state of urgency. {PS: Most salon appointments come under the urgent category anyway}

So, that one salient part is well taken care of by this new website dedicated to nail bars, make-up artists/ studios, salon and spa appointments – www.bookthesalon.com. They seem to have covered a comfortable number of outlets across NCR, have updated info and pictures (pictures always make me comfortable).

While they do have a section for rate cards, the category is blank for most entries, specially the salons. Now, that would make a lot of difference to a service like this. Most of us wouldn’t need such a booking search engine for our regular salons, but when we are looking our for alternatives, we would definitely need all the info we can get for the new ones,  the rate card in particular. And yes there is a review section.

We’re told that is site is already home to 150 salons so far and all of them have been personally vetted by the BookTheSalon team. Vijit Manaktala, Founder, www.bookthesalon.com says,  “The site offers, access to top Salons, Nail Bars & Makeup Artists across Delhi/NCR. At bookthesalon, all our partners are personally vetted. We look at only genuine first hand customer reviews  which would help you decide and book your appointments instantly with just the click of a button.”

Also, their press release states, “Visitors will also be offered an opportunity to REDEEM points for exciting offers on every booking they do at the website. Visitors to bookthesalon.com have an advantage to search for all services related to Hair, Nails, Body, Face, Spa, Makeup at one place. From different search & filter criteria’s one can narrow down a search to one that matches the exact requirement. Customers also have an advantage of great offers when a group booking is made through the portal,” Manaktala ads.

In all, once a few basics are in place, this could be a handy site to bookmark for sure, but only if they actually include proper rates cards and get rid of sketchy reviews that don’t sound like they’ve been written by staff, friends and family of the listed participants, on a ‘promotional’ overdrive. Lastly, they need to make the site mobile compatible, the navigation and display – when logged in from a tab or mobile device, is confusing, slow and putting-off. In our opinion, womenfolk will need this site most, while on the move and therefore access the site through their phones. Nevertheless, it’s a welcome effort, to make our lives, a bit easier.
